Blog hop

Welcome to the first Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team Blog Hop for 2018. My fabulous team love to share their creativity. Tonight the team are sharing creative projects using product from the occasions catalogue. The Occasions Catalogue is current now until 31st May. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today (along with the Sale-a-bration brochure). Sale-a-bration is also a great time to join our fabulous team. Ask any of the girls on the hop!

I am showcasing the lovely Sweet Soiree embellishment kit. There are so many fabulous bits and pieces in this kit, that you can use to make lots and lots of projects. Everything on this card is from the embellishment kit except the cardstock, greeting stamp and silver foil cardstock under the ribbon.

The die cuts and many of the embellishments have silver foiled touches to them for extra wow factor. I also LOVE the scalloped velvet Marina Mist ribbon in the kit.

Stampin' Up! All Inclusive Lots of Happy Cardmaking Kit

All inclusive kits are one of the first things I always seem to be attracted to in new catalogues, and the lots of Happy Kit in the Stampin' Up! 2018 Occasions Catalogue is no exception. I think I love the kits because I can grab them and sit at the kitchen table, or even the lounge coffee table and have everything I need in the cute little box, rather than sitting away from the family while I craft. I also love the simplicity and the variety in the kits.

This kit contains everything you need to make 20 cards (envelopes included too) with 4 each of 5 designs. There is a full colour leaflet showing how each card is put together. It even includes the pencils for the colouring. You can also buy refills for the kits too.

Stampin Up Lots of Happy Card KitYou can also play around a little and add some additional colours, like I have with the larger card here (because it looked like olives to me).

Guest Stampin' Up! Blogger Ros Davidson showcasing Fabulous Flamingo

This week I am having a few days family time, so I have asked a couple of my long term Art With Heart team members to be guest bloggers.

Today we have Ros Davidson, who celebrated her 10 year anniversary with my team and Stampin' Up! in September 2017. Ros is my longest serving team member and is a fabulous friend, as well as being super creative at both memory keeping and card making.  Ros has been running Stampin' Up! classes for many years in Skye (south east suburb of Melbourne). If you live close by, check out the fabulous range of classes Ros offers.

Make sure you also head over to Ros's blog to check out her amazing creations!

Here's Ros's guest post:

Hi, I’m Ros Davidson and while Claire is off enjoying some family time I have jumped at the chance to guest blog for you today. I am sharing a fabulous flamingo card which I really enjoyed making and had a go at making a stepped up version also.

Using the palm tree leaf stamp from fabulous flamingo, I created my own designer series paper stamping in tranquil tide, emerald envy and lemon lime twist onto whisper white cardstock.

Stampin Up Fabulous Flamingo

The basic version of the card works great for many occasions as no sentiment has been added. I can see it as a new baby girl card, for you card, happy birthday card and much more.

The stepped up version has gold embossing for a touch of added class along with a birthday sentiment and metallic enamel shapes.

I’ve carried the hand stamped designer series paper inside the card and finished it off with stamps from confetti celebration stamp set.

Thanks Claire for the chance to share my creations with your readers.

Stampin' Up! Picture Perfect Party 6x6" paper pack meets Party Pandas stamp set

There are some beautiful bright happy paper packs in the Stampin' Up! 2018 Occasions Catalogue, but I think this Picture Perfect Party 6x6" pack of 48 sheets might be my favourite. There are 12 great 6x6" double sided designs, one side photo-realistic designs (doughnuts anyone?) and the other side more bright coordinating patterns. As with all our papers, they coordinate perfectly with our ink and cardstock. Each paper pack has the coordinating colours on the back wrapper (and it's also listed in the catalogue).

The coordinating colours for the Picture Perfect Party DSP are: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party and Whisper White.

Picture Perfect Party DSP

I've used the paper in the bottom row, third from left in this card, as well as two of this years free Saleabration items, Party Pandas stamp set, and Celebrate You thinlits.

My coordinating cardstock is Pool Party, and my embellishments the silver trim Berry Burst ribbon from the Occasions Catalogue (so yummmyyy). I've also added in some of the Tutti Frutti adhesive backed sequins, and a die cut word from the Celebrate You thinlits. There's also a few bits of the Silver Bakers Twine tied around the knot in the ribbon.

For the Party Pandas, I have stamped in Memento Black, and then coloured in parts of the hat in Dark Pink Pirouette and Light Pool Party. I also water-coloured the bodies a little with Smokey Slate (making sure not to go too close to the stamped image or it would have smudged).

Stampin' Up! Party Pandas stamp set and Celebrate You Thinlits for Saleabration 2018 - Earn them FREE

Today I have a super fun card to show you using two products from the Saleabration 2018 catalogue. You can earn both the Party Panda stamp set and Celebrate You Thinlits die for FREE during Saleabration (along with lots of other choices). Read how HERE.

Isn't the panda the cutest? For the panda body, I added a teeny bot of colour with an aqua-painter picking up some of the ink inside the lid of my Smokey Slate ink pad. I then coloured parts of the party hat with the Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends marker. I then cut this shape out with my 2" circle punch.

My main card base is Bermuda Bay, and I have used one of the Petal Pair Embossing Folders (I used the other one in the set in my last blog post). I really like tis one as it kind of looks like the panda is up a tree! To get the window, I cut a 1 and 3/4" circle in the top half of the card, towards the left side. I positioned the panda piece beneath this window and adhered with snail adhesive.

To make the window border, I cut a circle from a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, and then used the Starburst punch around the outside (it's much easier to get it the right shape if you cut the inside circle first like this). I then adhered this around the outside of the circle.

To finish the card, I added the word from the Celebrate You Thinlits (earn them as a level 2 choice during Saleabration), and some adhesive rhinestones. A pretty simple card, but I like how it turned out.

You can view all the products I have used at the end of the post. Use these links to shop, check out the great deals during Saleabration. Don't forget to subscribe to never miss a thing from me.
