My personal Stampin' Up! Journey
Here I am at the Stampin' Up! Convention in Canberra in May 2009 being congratulated by Shelli Gardner (CEO and Cofounder) for being 3rd Place Demonstror of the Year for Australia and 1st for Victoria. I also received 1st Place Australia for recruiting and mentoring new recruits, and a sales and leadership award plus the 2009 Incentive Trip to Noosa.
Receiving these awards for doing something I love, and brings so many good things to my life and the life of others was just icing on the already delicious cake!
Here's how I got there .....
It was in December 2006 and I had requested a catalogue from another demonstrator who had recently joined. She referred me onto the lovely Jenni Oliver who was her own upline. At the time I was home with 2 children, doing some part time work, but looking for something for me. I just LOVED the catalogue and loved the idea of getting a discount on my craft products. I'd never made a hand-stamped card ever, but I had been scrapbooking for a few years. It seemed pretty risk free, so I decided to give it a go and signed with Jenni in early January 2007.
Thanks goodness I did that! I can't imagine my life now without:
Even though I started with just earning a discount on my supplies, It soon became apparent it just was a perfect fit for my desire to have a way of earning an income, while I worked from home and maintained the flexibility of being able to take my boys to school and be here on school holidays. I loved the professional promotional material the company supplied and the products were such fabulous value and quality that there have been no shortage of people wanting to get their hands on the goodies! In my first six months with the company, I earnt myself 15 free stamp sets through their fabulous promotions. I was also rewarded with the 2008 Incentive Trip to Port Douglas and was named in the top 25 demonstrators in Australia (number 20) in 2007/2008 which was my first year with Stampin Up. My team has continued to grow and I have promoted along the way and I am now a Senior Manager, and I mentioned previously I was 3rd place demonstrator for Australia in 2008/2009 and will again be going on the Incentive Trip in August. I never saw myself as a 'party plan' person. This is so much more than that. You are developing relationships with fabulous like minded people and sharing a passion for creativity that is so nurturing to peoples lives. The Stampin' Up! 'Statement of the Heart' says it all: To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments ... in this we make a difference.
