Stampin' Up! Hedgehugs. Quick and simple card ideas.

How super cute is this Hedgehugs stamp set? It's new in the Stampin' Up! 2018 Occasions Catalogue, and is available in wood or clear mount in my online store from January 3rd.

I thought this set was perfect for some quick and easy cards, so the cute images and greetings in the set can be the focus. I chose my colour scheme based on the beautiful Dahlia that is blooming in my garden right now.

Hedgehogs 5

Click through to my blog to see three cards based on this colour combination.

I started with just a super basic card.

Here are the step by step instructions for this one:

  1. I stamped the hedgehogs close together, then die-cut with one of the Layering Oval Framelits.
  2. Next I stamped Flirty Flamingo flowers onto the Flirty Flamingo background.
  3. Then I stamped the greeting on a Very Vanilla scrap and cut out with the Classic Label Punch.
  4. I cut a piece of Berry Burst cardstock 1.5" wide. and the width of the card. I then cut a banner shape at each end with the Triple Layer Banner Punch.
  5. The banner piece is attached with Snail, and the oval piece and greeting piece with Dimensionals.

I also decided to make two mini gift cards using the same colour combination. These are great to make, and very economical as you can get 4 from a piece of A4 cardstock. Just cut a piece of A4 cardstock in half horizontally, and then each of those pieces in half vertically. The finished size of the unfolded card is 21cm x 7.4-7.5cm (it's actually 7.425, but if you do 3 x 7,4 winde ones and 1 7.5cm wide one it makes life way easier!).

The Berry Burst pieces are 7cm wide x 9.8cm long. The Very Vanilla piece on the hedgehog card is 5.2cm wide x 7.4cm long. The Very Vanilla piece on the bird card is 4.8cm long x 4.0cm wide. I have also rounded 2 of the corners on these pieces.

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette Bundle from Occasions 2018 Catalogue makes it's debut in 4 days

Hello friends. I'm back from some family time over Christmas, so it's time to jump into showing you all the fabulous things coming your way on January 3rd with the launch of the Stampin' Up! 2018 Occasions Catalogue and the 2018 Saleabration promotion.

The Petal Palette bundle is part of the Petal Passion suite in the new 2018 Occasions Catalogue. I really like this bundle for the artwork, the vintage look and feel, and because it has a bunch of sentiments included. It's available in wood-mount and clear-mount. Here's my first card with his bundle:

Stampin Up Petal Palette Bundle from Occasions 2018. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. #stampinup #stampinupaustralia #occasions2018 #petalpalette #vintagecards

Here's Step by Step Instructions:

  1. I started with a top folding C6 card (half sheet of A4, cut in half vertically and folded in half with bone folder).
  2. I die cut the large branch in Crumb Cake and adhered to the left half of card using either glue or snail.
  3. I die cut the long lacework piece in Fresh Fig cardstock and adhered to the bottom of the card, slightly off centre so the right edge is next to the right side of the card.
  4. I embossed the largest flower/leaf image onto vellum in copper embossing powder (i.e. stamp in Versamark, cover with Copper embossing powder, shake off excess, heat with heat gun)
  5. Cut the embossed image out with the coordinating thinlin. Attach to the bottom left corner of card using Dimensionals (I placed the Dimensionals where they would be covered with the bird and greeting).
  6. Stamp the greeting in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla. Use the label thinlit to cut the greeting out.
  7. Attach the greeting slightly to the right of, and half over the Fresh Fig piece, using Dimensionals to adhere.
  8. Stamp the bird in Fresh Fig ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, and cut out using the coordinating thinlit.
  9. Using an Aqua-painter, gently pull some of the ink onto the stamped sections of the bird, towards the centre to give a light watercolor effect. Dry with heat-gun.
  10. Attach a tiny pearl to highlight the birds eye.
  11. Attach the bird (slightly overlapping the greeting) using Dimensionals.
  12. Attach some adhesive pearls as shown to embellish and provide balance to the design.
  13. Tie a double strand of linen thread around the top of the card and create a bow, Trim the ends.

The different textures and use of Dimensionals gives this card lots of texture and dimension, which I think really suits this style of stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Saleabration Catalogue Sneak Peek - Party Pandas

A little sneak peek for you today. The new 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue and Saleabration promotion kick off on January 3rd (get your paper copies HERE)

Panda

Doesn't he just scream 'happy'? To create the silver glimmer circle I just used two Layering Circle Framelit dies.  I chose my colour palette based on the Designer Paper I have used, which is the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper in the Saleabration catalogue. I love the bright happy colours in this paper - Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist. The cute bubble stamps come from the Bubble Over Stamp Set which is a new one in the Occasions Catafalque that coordinates with the Saleabration paper.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you request your paper copies of the catafalques HERE if you don't already have a demonstrator. You will love them!
