My Digital Studio (MDS) Video Tutorial: Printing Cards onto A4 Cardtsock

My big boy Josh had his 11th birthday this week, so I thought I would have a play around with a hybrid card for him. Hybrid meaning I did some on MDS, printed it out and then embellished with stamps and other 'real' embellishments. Here is the finished card. I've included a video below that shows you how I set up my printing to get 2 cards or 4 to an A4 page.

Here's the card I first printed out (2 cards to an A4 sheet). If you just wanted a single layer card you could do this.

I also included a digital stamp from Creatively Yours on the reverse.

I wanted a bit more added to the card though, so I cut out the card front, trimmed 2mm off all around the edges and mountd onto a Cherry Cobbler C6 card. I then cut some of the hexagons from the other card front and mounted them on top with Dimensionals. I then used the slatter stamp from French Foliage around the outside, some punched stars and some linen thread. Birthday boy loved his personalised card, and I was happy to have worked out how to print cards as I wanted them using Australian cardstock measurements. Here's the video:

Hope you have found this video useful and you will have a go at making some hybrid cards using MDS soon.

Showcasing Wisteria Wonder

One of my favourite plants in the world is the amazing Wisteria, and one of my favourite Stampin' Up! Colours is Wisteria Wonder. Today I wanted to showcase two cards using this colour.

Igot this colour combination from the Stampin' Up! Colour Coach. It is Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder and Cherry Cobbler. When I'm using colours together on a card, I have my primary colour, add a smaller amount of a second colour, and if I use a third it's just a touch as a highlight.

Stampin Up Oh Hello

The products I have used on this card (click on each item to view it in my online store) are Lace Brocade Embossing Folder, Floral Fusion Sizzlit Die, Oh Hello Stamp Set, Kindness Matters stamp set, Lace Doileys and Polka Dot Brads. We also have a lovely Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine

For this second example, I have used the Hearts a Flutter Bundle from the Stampin' Up! Seasonal Catalogue. This is a beautiful and versatile bundle. Check it out here in the Online Store.

I hope you like this colour combination and give it a try soon!

My Digital Studio (MDS): Working with DSP Patterned Paper Layers

Hi everyone. Having more fun playing with My Digital Studio, learning as I go.I have had questions from my customers about how to do some things in MDS, so I have started some simple 'how to' videos as I learn and discover things myself. Hopefully this will be helpful to someone else too. I don't think I will ever go 100% digital but I love how quick and easy (and mess free!) these layouts can be!

The first thing I wanted to learn was to how to layer and manipulate patterned paper layers, as I use this style a lot in my layouts. Here is the layout I created.

My Digital Studio layout
I have used the gorgeous Springtime Vintage digital paper pack, which you can buy in the Stampin' Up! Online Store for just $5.50. Isn't it lovely? Perfect for so many styles of layouts. I also used one of the many free DSP packs that comes with the package.

If you would like to learn a little about resizing, altering and layering patterned papers without them pixelating, this short video might help you.

If you would like to have a play around with MDS, you can download a free 30 day trial in the unload store here. It comes with free elements to play with, and if you buy the program for $24.95 (which you can do anytime, before or after downloading the free trial) you have heaps more elements included as well. It's awesome value!

Hope you have lots of fun! See you back here soon with more paper and digital creations,

Stampin' Up! Summer Silhouette Thank You Card ...

I've had a big week. I turned 50 :) I had a fabulous party on Saturday night that so many people made happen without me doing a lot at all, and I was thoroughly spoilt. So you will be seeing a LOT of thankyou cards on my blog over the next couple of weeks while I thank my lovely friends and family. There's nothing like a hand made card to say thank you.

Here is today's thank you card.

I love the effect you can get with the graduating sizes of the Oval Framelits. I have used two of the retiring colours, Pretty in Pink and Bravo Burgundy, together with Sahara Sand. I have sponged one of the flowrs from the Flower Trim with a sponge dauber dabbed in Bravo Burgundy ink.

Saying goodbye to the Watercolour Crayons ....

Stampin' Up! made the announcement today that due to some changes with the supplier, they have decided to retire the Watercolour Wonder Crayons and Watercolour Pencils. These items will only be available until current stocks are sold out.

The Watercolour Pencils are just one set of 24, but the Watercolour Wonder Crayons are available in the colour sets, for $29.95 each.

Wc crayons

They are fabulous to colour with, you jut dab your Aquapainter or Blender pen directly onto the crayon tip and colour away. Here's a favourite layout I did lots of years ago, with all the colouring done using the Watercolour Crayons and an Aquapainter. I love the softer effect it gives.

If you want to grab some before they sell out, email me, or head over to the online store.

Be back soon with some pretty things to show.
